E-Commerce
The new e-commerce market is experiencing extraordinary growth and leaving little doubt that as more consumers use the Internet, e-commerce sales are no longer a luxury for many businesses, but an absolute necessity. An internet First Data merchant account is an important component to conducting business on-line. FDIS has become one of the leaders in merchant services and transaction processing over the years.
Because the e-commerce environment constitutes a non-face-to-face transaction, it also creates greater potential for fraud. FDIS realizes that e-commerce accounts need reliable Internet-based payment services that will help maximize their electronic payment profit potential, while helping to ward off fraud from these transactions. We offer e-commerce merchants several payment solutions to maximize electronic payment profit potential and fraud protection.
First Data Global Gateway
The First Data Global Gateway(formerly known as the Linkpoint gateway) is the gateway of choice for FDIS. However, our internet merchant accounts are compatible with all major gateways.
The First Data Global Gateway is one of the most dynamic processing gateways in the industry today, empowering e-commerce merchants to process secure transactions quickly and easily from anywhere that has Internet access.
The gateway translates information on merchant's Web sites into a format that can be read by an electronic processing system to process transactions online. The gateway uses 128-bit secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption so data remains secure. In addition, Global Gateway screens transactions prior to authorization to check for fraud and uses the Address Verification Service (AVS) and card verification value 2 (CVV2) to help confirm user information.
Global Gateway Central
The Global Gateway Central service (formerly known as Linkpoint) provides merchants with a flexible, virtual point-of-sale terminal to process their orders.
The Global Gateway Central service acts as a secure portal for merchants to manage their e-commerce account related to transaction processing. The Global Gateway Central service provides merchants with an easy-to-use processing solution that allows them to process orders from anywhere that has Internet access. It also offers access to full-featured reports, fraud protection and LinkPoint Connect setup.
Global Gateway Connect
The Global Gateway Connect service enables merchants to process transactions by using a simple Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) form on their Web sites.
The Global Gateway Connect service is an innovative transaction processing software that offers merchants the flexibility to collect as little or as much order data as they require, and with all the speed, security and fraud protection they need. The Global Gateway Connect service handles all the financial processing behind the scenes and deposits money earned from merchants' orders directly into their merchant accounts.
Global Gateway API
The Global Gateway API (application programming interface) provides e-commerce merchants a more sophisticated payment solution through comprehensive payment processing software.
The Global Gateway API service allows customers to pay for products and services without leaving a merchant's Web site. The service provides sales, returns, real-time authorizations and real-time reports, and it calculates tax and shipping - giving merchants control over how their payments are processed. In addition, it allows e-commerce merchants to build transaction processing applications that can process payments from a Web site or from multiple point-of-sale terminals.
Global Gateway VirtualCheck
The Global Gateway VirtualCheck service lets merchants accept checks online and have them automatically processed.
The Global Gateway VirtualCheck service is a value-added enhancement, allowing merchants to accept and process electronic check payments. The transactions are captured by the First Data Global Gateway. The system debits the amount from the customer's checking account and transfers the funds to the merchant's direct deposit account. Merchants are notified of returned checks normally within two to four days, and the system automatically resubmits the check. Merchants can also request email notifications of a transaction's acceptance.
